Maintenance Operative - Chelmsford About Admirals Reach Care Home Admirals Reach Care Home is a 158 bed care home located in a quiet residential area of Chelmsford, Essex. Providing residential, nursing, residential dementia and nursing dementia care, the home offers a welcoming environment with bright living spaces, landscaped gardens, comfortable lounges and a strong family atmosphere. Maintenance Operative Contract 14.05 to 14.40 per hour Contracted to 37.5 hours per week Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.

You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.

What We Are Looking For Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively Understanding of health and safety procedures A proactive and practical approach Reliable, organised and able to problem solve
