Our client, a dynamic player in the manufacturing and production industry, is on the lookout for dedicated Assembly Operators to join their team in Chelmsford. This temporary full-time position starts in February 2026, and offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment.
What You'll Do:
As an Assembly Operator, you will be responsible for assembling various products and components for our diverse range of customers. Your skills and attention to detail will play a vital role in ensuring that every product meets our high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work with production documentation, including procedures and assembly drawings.
- Execute a variety of assembly jobs, adapting quickly to different projects.
- Maintain a high standard of quality in all work completed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve production goals.
- Operate lifting equipment and pallet trucks with confidence.
- Adhere to safety standards and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following personal qualities and skills:
Personal Requirements:
- A solid understanding of production documentation.
- A conscientious and diligent approach to work quality.
- Punctuality and readiness to work overtime when necessary.
- A collaborative spirit and ability to work alongside others.
- Must be able to distinguish wire colours for safety; some tasks may require standing.
- Confidence in using lifting equipment and pallet trucks.
- Working Monday - Friday day shifts, 8 hours a day.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in using general mechanical assembly tools.
- Experience in wire crimping, especially with small and delicate operations.
- Ability to solder using the latest lead-free solders.
- IT skills are highly advantageous.
- Confident using electrical test equipment and automated machinery.
- Understanding of the importance of calibration status on all equipment.
