Kitchen Assistant

£15,386 per annum (full time equivalent is £23,934.34)

36 weeks per year, Monday to Friday from 7:30am - 3pm

At peak times, our kitchen is a busy, fast-paced environment serving hot food and drinks to the students and staff on campus. If you thrive under pressure, can juggle multiple tasks, and enjoy being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you.

This role is for 36 weeks per year only; you'll work on campus from the beginning of September each year to the middle of June. As you will not be required to work from the middle of June until the end of August, this is a great opportunity if you'd like a longer break away from work each summer - maybe you like to travel or you have caring commitments?

What you’ll be doing:

• Offering a warm, friendly welcome to all customers
• Serving customers at the till
• Assisting with day-to-day kitchen tasks including daily food preparation, and cooking food items.
• Providing outstanding customer service at all times and promoting the values of the Students’ Union
• Adhering to Food Safety and Hygiene Laws and practices
• Support Kitchen Supervisor with menu planning, ordering and student staff training
• Supporting with monthly stock counting and stock management.
