We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and commercially minded Sector Lead to join us and play a key role in expanding and strengthening our presence within the Social Housing & Tenant Voucher Schemes sector. This is an exciting opportunity for an influential relationship builder to lead on business development, shape strategy and raise our profile nationally. Reporting to the Group Sector Sales Manager, this role is integral to developing existing accounts and sourcing new business.
As Sector Lead, you will be responsible for developing successful long term relationships with new and existing customers across Social Housing, while driving growth through the Company’s Social Housing & Tenant Voucher Schemes. You will act as the Company’s expert and ambassador for this sector, ensuring we maximise opportunities, support regional teams and deliver against agreed KPI targets. Key to the role is identifying new business, supporting tender activity, shaping pricing strategies, and collaborating closely with colleagues across Sales, Commercial, and Regional Management to drive our business forward.
This is a national role with customers based across the country so flexibility to travel along with some overnight stays will be required.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Social Housing sector or have knowledge of coatings and wallpapers that are used in this industry, to make them a true specialist in the field. You will need to demonstrate initiative, commercial acumen and highly effective communication and negotiation skills. You will be able to build effective and collaborative working relationships with customers, the branch network and our internal management team to offer a complete solution to the client whilst achieving the Company objective of profitable sales.
KeyObjectives And Responsibilities Include
- Building strong relationships with Social Housing customers and act as the Company lead for the sector
- Growing existing accounts and develop new business opportunities nationally and locally
- Leading the development and promotion of ‘Revitalise’, Brewer’s own Tenant Voucher scheme.
- Supporting tender submissions, pricing strategies and promotional packages direct to customers or via Frameworks.
- Planning and delivering customer development activities aligned to KPI targets
- Negotiating pricing, terms and rebates
- Promoting the full product range, including own-brand and new lines
- Securing specifications for projects and cyclical redecorations
- Maintaining structured customer activity plans and journey plans
- Preparing and presenting tenders and commercial proposals
- Collaborating with Regional Managers, ADMs, Direct Sales teams and commercial colleagues to drive sector growth
- Conducting regular strategy and follow-up meetings with internal teams and manufacturers
- Providing excellent customer service by following up enquiries, resolving issues promptly and representing the Company professionally
- Developing new accounts to a handover stage for regional teams
- Previous experience in an Accounts Management role within a sales environment in the Decorating, Social Housing or other relevant sector
- A passion and enthusiasm for sales with the ability to build relationships and rapport easily with suppliers and customers
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills with the ability to instil trust and reassurance
- Highly effective communication skills with the confidence and skills to be able to create and deliver engaging presentations
- The ability and self-confidence to independently manage your own time and set targets for achievement
- Highly numerate with excellent analytical data management skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office to an intermediate level and the ability to embrace technology and learn new systems and software
- A current driving licence and a willingness to travel
