We’re partnering with a dynamic and steadily expanding freight forwarder in Chelmsford who are looking to strengthen their internal sales function with an experienced multimodal professional.

If you understand import operations, know your sea freight inside out, and enjoy the commercial side of freight forwarding, this could be the ideal next move.

This position sits at the heart of the business - supporting growth through proactive sales activity while working closely with operations.

With a strong emphasis on import sea freight (particularly Far East trade lanes), you’ll manage pricing, produce accurate and competitive quotations, and convert opportunities into long-term client relationships.

You’ll gain exposure across sea, air, and road, but sea freight imports will be your core focus.

• Producing and managing competitive multimodal quotations
• Handling imports sea freight pricing (ESSENTIAL)
• Proactively generating new business via inbound and outbound calls
• Supporting customer relationships from enquiry through to shipment

• Experience with in multimodal freight forwarding
• Strong sea freight import knowledge (non‑negotiable)
• Proven experience preparing quotations and pricing
• Confidence speaking with customers commercially
• Exposure to Far East trade lanes (advantageous)
• Organised, commercially aware and motivated
