Chelmsford City Racecourse is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Private & Corporate Events Executive to join our growing Private Events team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-profile events at one of the
UK’s newest and most dynamic racecourses. You will manage and deliver a diverse range of
private and corporate events across 10 versatile venues, supporting the growth of the
Racecourse’s reputation as a leading entertainment and leisure destination.
The RoleAs Private & Corporate Events Executive, you will manage events from initial enquiry through to
on-the-day delivery, ensuring exceptional client experiences while maximising revenue
You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and suppliers, coordinating multiple events
simultaneously across a fast-paced, multi-venue environment. You will also play an active role
in generating new business through proactive outreach, marketing initiatives, and local

Key Responsibilities- Manage and convert private and corporate event enquiries from initial contact to confirmation.
- Conduct client meetings, planning consultations, and site visits.
- Prepare proposals, quotations, and tailored event packages to maximise revenue.
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Drive proactive business development through email campaigns, telephone outreach, Linked In prospecting, and local networking.
- Coordinate with catering, logistics, operations, and other internal teams to deliver seamless events.
- Oversee multiple concurrent events, ensuring operational excellence and brand standards.
- Maintain accurate records, financial documentation, and reporting.
- Update venue listings and marketing materials as required.
- Has proven experience in event sales and delivery within a multi-space venue.
- Has experience managing multiple events simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Is confident conducting proactive sales outreach and generating new business.
- Has excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Is commercially driven, results-focused, and passionate about delivering outstanding events.
- Is flexible and able to work evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays, and racedays.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to own transport.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, email marketing, and Linked In prospecting is essential.
