Job DescriptionThe Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.
Position: CHS Music Assistant for Fall Musical
While this is listed in the contract as “musical assistant” this role is to direct all music for the fall musical. This position begins in the summer and ends the week before Thanksgiving.
Pit orchestra / vocalist director of the Fall Musical (2A – Musical Assistant $2017)
Timeline- June–August:
Collaborate with the director and technical director to plan production schedule. - September–November:
Collaborate closely with the director throughout the rehearsal and production window. The musical assistant will lead all music rehearsals for vocalists and instrumentalists and direct the student pit orchestra for all performances.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Proficiency at piano score reading
- Ability to lead students in vocal and instrumental rehearsal and performance (rehearsals and performances in the evening as well as one Saturday matinee performance)

Chelmsford High School is a public high school located in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, established in 1927. The school is based on a three‑house system. The houses are named after Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and John Whittier, three well‑known New England writers. Each house has two to three school counselors, a dean, and an office. All students are assigned a house at the beginning of their freshman year.
