Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancies for the 2024-25 School Year

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Interim
- Special Education Teacher

Location: South Row Elementary School

Assignment Dates: Beginning on 03/03/2025 through the end of the 2024/2025 SY.

Description
  • Design, supervise, and implement students’ IEP plans
  • Instruct students using specialized curriculum programs/methodology
  • Develop curriculum modifications and adaptations
  • Participate in IEP Team meetings
  • Write effective IEPs for students
  • Collect and analyze student data and monitor student progress
  • Effectively work with a team of professionals to coordinate services
  • Consult with general education teacher and related service providers
  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional strategies to facilitate inclusion
  • Write quarterly progress reports for IEP goals that are data based on student performance
  • Administer various diagnostic achievement assessments (WIAT-III, Woodcock Johnson IV, Key Math, GORT 5, CTOPP, etc.) that identify student capabilities as part of initial and reevaluation for students
  • Write effective evaluation reports summarizing findings and making recommendations for assigned students

South Row is currently the smallest elementary school in Chelmsford with a student population of approximately 420 students in grades K-4. We have four sections at each grade level with class size ranging from 20 to 25. South Row prides itself on having a very happy and friendly school culture where all the adults work in collaboration with one another in order to help our students learn and grow.

Job Requirements
  • Hold a Master’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university
  • MA DESE Teaching License-- PreK-8 Moderate Special Needs license is required
  • Training and experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc.) or willingness to be trained
  • Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to assure students can access the curriculum
  • Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff
  • Solid organizational skills
  • Experience with IEP development is required
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
