Long‑Term Substitute Special Education Teacher – Grades 5 & 6
Location: Parker Middle School, Chelmsford, Massachusetts
Assignment Dates: 12/01/2025 – 12/23/2025 (subject to change)
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher for a long‑term substitute position. The teacher will design, supervise, and implement students’ IEP plans; instruct using specialized curriculum; develop curriculum modifications and adaptations; collaborate with the IEP team; collect and analyze student data; consult with general education teachers and related service providers; assist classroom teachers with inclusion strategies; write quarterly progress reports and evaluation reports;
administer diagnostic assessments such as WIAT‑4, Woodcock Johnson IV, Key Math, GORT 5, CTOPP, etc.; and coordinate services with a team of professionals.
- Master’s degree in Special Education from an accredited institution.
- PreK‑8 or 5‑12 Moderate Needs license (DESE Teaching License).
- Training or experience with specialized reading programs (OG, Wilson, LIPS, etc.).
- Experience modifying and adapting curriculum to ensure access for students.
- Experience with IEP development (required).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to consult and collaborate with service providers and support staff.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
