Job DescriptionJob Goal: To provide student supervision to maintain a well‑organized, smoothly‑functioning school environment. Duties include supervising students during recess and lunch periods. During lunch, assist students in opening lunch materials, cleaning tables, and monitoring social interactions. During recess, closely monitor students for safety, social interactions, and appropriate play.
Assist teachers and other professional personnel in classroom, office, and library settings with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Responsibilities- Supervise students during recess and lunch periods.
- Assist students with lunch procedures and maintain a clean environment.
- Ensure student safety and monitor social interactions.
- Collaborate with a team of recess aides to provide a safe and caring environment.
- Offer assistance to teachers, staff, and other personnel as requested.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience working with children.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the elementary level.
- Experience working with age‑appropriate students in a school setting.
- Ability to accept alternatives to the above qualifications, as deemed appropriate.
Reports to: School Principal
Work Days: 181‑day work year

South Row is currently the smallest elementary school in Chelmsford with a student population of approximately 420 students in grades K‑4. We have four sections at each grade level with class sizes ranging from 20‑25. South Row prides itself on having a very happy and friendly school culture where all the adults work in collaboration with one another to help our students learn and grow.
