Co‑op, Firmware Engineering – Chelmsford (January 2026 to August 2026)
Join Rockwell Automation as a Firmware Engineering Co‑op, working full‑time in our Chelmsford office during the Spring 2026 semester.
Job DescriptionSeeking an enthusiastic engineering student to assist with embedded firmware development. Responsibilities include coding in C/C++, debugging, testing on target hardware, and documenting results. Must be enrolled in an Electrical/Computer Engineering or related program, with basic knowledge of microcontrollers and peripheral interfaces.
Student must be able to take the Spring Semester off of school to work full time in the Chelmsford office from January 2026 to August 2026.
Essentials – You Will Have- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited college or university.
- Must be enrolled for at least one semester after the internship concludes.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. We will not sponsor employment visas, now or in the future.
- Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Preference given to students met on campus, at a national recruiting event, through a Rockwell Automation‑hosted event, or a targeted recruiting campaign.
- Preference given to students who have had prior intern or co‑op experience with Rockwell Automation.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Basic computer programming (C++, C, Python).
- Experience with industrial automation environments, including PLC or drives programming.
- Previous experience with Industrial Automation products.
- Experience using Agile methodology.

Base Salary Compensation: $22/hour – $32/hour (actual pay based on skills, knowledge, education, and experience).
