Job Duties and Responsibilities- Act as a technical lead for cross‑functional teams and mentor peers.
- Serve as an RF subject‑matter expert to ensure designs succeed via best practices and lessons learned.
- Provide full‑life‑cycle system design ownership: collecting requirements, signal‑chain simulations, schematic design, component selection, and supervising or completing layout, bring‑up, test, debug, and system integration.
- Design and evaluate complex multi‑chip designs and architectures from DC to 55 GHz+.
- Identify viable architectures, complete system and chip‑level design trades (frequency planning, spur analysis, phase noise, gain, IP2/IP3, noise figure).
- Provide experience on PCB materials, stack‑ups, and fabrication processes; review multilayer PCBs for high‑speed effects, signal flow, and design rule adherence.
- Design for testability, quality, and cost.
- Research and analyze best design techniques for specific product challenges; develop and implement system improvements, modifications, and upgrades.
- Own and oversee hardware and system bring‑up, develop test plans and protocols, debug, evaluate, and validate in a lab environment.
- Verify and validate design to ensure compliance with customer specifications and expectations.
- Prepare proposal documents, including technical, cost, and schedule estimates.
- Execute technology roadmaps and benchmark plans through product releases.
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience in RF/Microwave or electronics design.
- Demonstrated experience leading full signal‑chain designs in a cross‑functional setting.
- Experience with RF/Microwave design through 18 GHz, including chain analysis, circuit/system modeling, and product integration & test.
- Proficient in laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, network analyzers, signal generators, and automated test instrumentation.
- Familiar with power and signal integrity in mixed‑signal hardware, including RF and digital interfaces.
- Experience with RF/Microwave design tools:
Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS + System Vue), Cadence Tool Suite (System Capture, Clarity, Power‑DC), and Ansys EM (HFSS). - Strong communication skills, able to interact with peers, managers, and stakeholders verbally and in writing.
- US Citizen only with ability to obtain government security clearance.
- Management experience with engineers, directly or through complex projects.
- Design experience to 55+ GHz.
- Experience developing robust test plans and automated test fixtures using Python or equivalent.
- Project management skills: setting priorities, adapting to change, driving progress of activities, risks, and deliverables.
- High‑speed data converter (DAC, ADC, or other transceiver) experience.
- Low‑phase‑noise oscillator design experience.
- Creativity and innovation: exploring new options to bridge challenges and improve processes.
Hybrid work model with options for home or office. Option for a compressed work week (alternating a regular week with four 10‑hour days and Friday off).
