SMT Operator

Job Description

Summary of Duties:
Operate and Maintain Surface Mount and Through-hole Lines.

Specific Duties :
- Working both independently and under the direction of the Materials Manager and Engineer, will perform multitasks operating Surface Mount Equipment.
- Maintains and repairs SMT and Through-hole equipment.

Specific Tasks:

• Perform multitasks; operate GSM1 P&P, reflow oven, screen printer, glue dot machines, wave solder, aqueous cleaner
• Coordinate work efficiently with Group Lead and PC Planner
• Ability to work with engineers; follow drawings/print; LCLCR meter and calipers
• Responsible for reporting any equipment or material problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Establishes and performs preventative maintenance schedules
• Evaluate machine malfunctions, recommend strategy for repair, coordinate resolution
• Recommend purchase of equipment from a maintenance perspective
• Able to work independently and produce quality product
• Build difficult and complex SMT units, military and medical
• Ability to produce appropriate documentation
• Recommend Process Improvements
• Enforce company policies/procedures
• Comply to all ISO
  9000/2000

Level and Complexity:

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. Normally operates with limited direction for routine work or new assignments. May direct the work of other non-exempt personnel.

Required:

- Completion of high school or trade school required.
- Not less than 5 years production experience, preferably in an electronics environment.
- SMT Component  necessary.
- Understands complicated specifications, blueprint reading and shop mathematics.
- Requires in depth knowledge of troubleshooting electronic machinery.
- ADA Requirements Read, write and understand basic English.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
