Job OverviewAs a Project and Technical Services Officer, you will assure the efficient and effective operation of the Gatineau Park portfolio of 150 buildings and of facilities technical systems (HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems, potable water, sanitation, alarms, etc.). In addition, you will prepare terms of reference, supervise and deliver contracted services to meet assets maintenance, rehabilitation and technical support requirements for Gatineau Park.
You will also be responsible for managing various Québec Urban Land & Gatineau Park operational services and provide assistance in monitoring the maintenance of the portfolio’s assets.
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field such as Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering, landscaping, or an acceptable combination of education, training or experience related to the position.
ExperienceThree (3) to five (5) years of experience in the following areas:
- Delivering maintenance and monitoring activity programs.
- Developing terms of reference and/or specifications for contracting and supervision of small asset operations/rehabilitation contracts.
- Managing operational programs in the field.
- Managing construction project delivery.
- Of technical systems such as mechanical, electrical engineering design, and systems and physical infrastructure.
- Of lifecycle and project management.
- Of contract management and purchasing processes.
- To analyze and resolve complex issues.
- To plan and manage budgets.
- To negotiate amendments, recommend payment, and evaluate performance based on established objectives.
- Demonstrating integrity and respect – Civility and well-being.
- Thinking things through – Innovating through analysis and ideas.
- Working effectively with others – Relationships and trust building.
- Showing initiative and being action-oriented – Getting things done.
- Experience working in a natural park environment.
- Experience working in multifunctional operational team.
- Knowledge of recreational programs and activities.
- Knowledge of basic environmental mitigation measures.
- To work overtime, occasionally on evenings and weekends.
- To be on a standby rotation after working hours and may be called back to work.
- To work occasionally in wooded areas and on lakes, to travel by foot or with off-road vehicles on natural surface paths.
- Possess or eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
- Linguistic profile:
Bilingual BBB. - Possess a valid driver’s licence and a good driver’s abstract.
- Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance of the Gatineau Park Visitor Centre at 33 Scott Road, Chelsea, Québec (workplace).
- The person selected for this position is expected to work on site. Working remotely can be granted on an occasional basis upon request.
