Join the Massachusetts Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (MABVI) as a volunteer to assist a blind participant in Chelsea, MA. Your responsibilities include reading mail, handling clerical tasks, and providing support as needed.

• Read mail for the participant
• Pay bills
• Assist with internet use and technology
• Provide medical transportation if required
• Run errands, including grocery shopping
• Offer recreational activities, such as being a running/walking sighted guide
• Other clerical tasks as needed

This opportunity is flexible. Volunteers typically commit 1–2 hours per week or biweekly, depending on participant needs.

• Complete the MABVI Volunteer application
• Complete the online modular MABVI Volunteer Training
• Chat via Zoom with a member of the MABVI Volunteer Team, and submit a CORI check if required
• Meet the MABVI Volunteer Team via Zoom or phone call
• MABVI matches you with a participant

The participant requires a car for travel between Chelsea and other locations and prefers meetings once a week or bimonthly. MABVI welcomes volunteers willing to travel 10–15 miles within Boston.
