Position: Part-time Emergency Housing Relief Staff
Job Description for Emergency Support Staff

We are seeking hourly staff for weekday overnight shifts, weekend day, evening, overnight, and as-needed relief to provide high-quality support to survivors of domestic violence and their children in short-term emergency housing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer hotline calls and perform entry and exit assessments.
  • Collect accurate data and provide detailed shift reports.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean and safe facility.
  • Qualifications:

    • Experience in assessing emergencies and providing crisis support.
    • Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to domestic violence issues.
    • Bilingual/bicultural skills are preferred.

    Ideal Candidate Attributes:

    • Strong knowledge of resources in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, East Boston, and Charlestown.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a mission-centered team.
    • Exceptional assessment, listening, communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
    • Highly creative, flexible, and adaptable.
    • Deep understanding of culturally relevant, strength-based strategies within an economic and social-justice framework, working with survivors, the broader community, and team members.
