Job Description for Emergency Support Staff
We are seeking hourly staff for weekday overnight shifts, weekend day, evening, overnight, and as-needed relief to provide high-quality support to survivors of domestic violence and their children in short-term emergency housing.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Experience in assessing emergencies and providing crisis support.
- Excellent communication skills and sensitivity to domestic violence issues.
- Bilingual/bicultural skills are preferred.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Strong knowledge of resources in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, East Boston, and Charlestown.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a mission-centered team.
- Exceptional assessment, listening, communication, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
- Highly creative, flexible, and adaptable.
- Deep understanding of culturally relevant, strength-based strategies within an economic and social-justice framework, working with survivors, the broader community, and team members.
