Finance Analyst (6 month FTC)

We are looking for a detail‑oriented and analytical Financial Accountant Analyst to join our Central Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part‑qualified or qualified accountant who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, taking ownership of financial controls, fixed assets, payroll accounting, and month‑end reporting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting integrity across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities Fixed Asset Accounting- Manage the fixed asset capitalisation process, ensuring all approvals and supporting documentation are in place.
- Maintain fixed asset records and approval workflows in line with company policies.
- Process asset disposals, transfers, and asset splits.
- Prepare and submit quarterly ONS survey data.
- Calculate and post monthly depreciation journals.
- Reconcile fixed asset registers to the General Ledger and investigate variances.
- Manage standby asset records and activation requests.
- Prepare and post payroll journals, including recharges and recoding activities.
- Produce monthly headcount reporting.
- Maintain central headcount data for management reporting.
- Reconcile payroll‑related balance sheet accounts, including PAYE, NIC, pensions, and employee loans.
- Review subcontractor payments to determine CIS applicability.
- Prepare HMRC payments and submit monthly CIS returns.
- Ensure compliance with relevant HMRC and statutory requirements.
- Support month‑end close activities and reporting deadlines.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure audit readiness.
- Perform group loan and foreign exchange calculations.
- Prepare cash flow reporting across multiple currencies.
- Support accurate and timely management reporting.
- Previous experience in a financial accounting or similar finance role.
- Strong exposure to fixed asset accounting and month‑end activities.
- Payroll accounting experience is desirable.
- Experience using ERP systems such as JD Edwards or similar.
- Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
