We are seeking an experienced Service Centre Manager to lead daily workshop and front-of-house operations for a thriving independent automotive business in Cheltenham. Operating since 1991, this expanding family-run specialist offers a basic salary around £35,000 per annum (negotiable pending experience), plans for an upcoming bonus scheme, enhanced annual leave, and permanent Monday-to-Friday hours with no weekend work required.

Your RoleReporting directly to the Business Owner, as Service Centre Manager you will:
- Manage daily operations
, overseeing both front-of-house customer reception and back-of-house workshop flow. - Lead and mentor a small team of Vehicle Technicians, allocating jobs efficiently to maximize productivity and safety.
- Liaise with customers
, preparing estimates, providing professional vehicle advice, and keeping clients updated throughout the repair process. - Handle parts procurement and supplier relationships, including reconciling statements and managing stock costs.
- Perform ad hoc workshop duties on the tools when required to assist the technical team during peak periods.
- Maintain strict health and safety
, workshop housekeeping, and quality control standards.
- Essential Trade
Experience:
Proven motor trade experience with strong workshop management or service advisor/workshop controller background is essential. You must understand automotive repairs, labor times, and daily garage operations. - Hands-on Skill set: Mechanical experience on the tools is highly beneficial (allowing you to pitch in when needed), but strong automotive technical knowledge and proven management skills are the core priorities.
- Key Strengths: Customer-focused mindset, strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to manage workflow and identify growth opportunities.
- Licensing: Full UK driving licence with minimal points is required.
Based in the Cheltenham region, the facility offers a straightforward daily commute for candidates travelling from Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Cirencester, Winchcombe, Evesham, and surrounding Gloucestershire areas.
