Teacher Active is working closely with a number of welcoming and supportive Secondary Schools across Gloucestershire who are looking for motivated, positive, and reliable Cover Teachers. As a Cover Teacher, you will lead lessons in place of the class teacher using prepared work, meaning no planning, marking, or specialist subject knowledge is required. Your main role is to guide, motivate, supervise and support students aged 11‑16, ensuring they stay engaged and make progress throughout the lesson.

This role is ideal for aspiring teachers, graduates, future teaching assistants, career changers, sports coaches, youth mentors and anyone passionate about helping young people succeed.

• Leading pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects
• Using your confidence and presence to inspire and motivate students
• Building positive relationships and supporting student learning
• Managing behaviour in a calm, encouraging and professional manner
• Becoming a valued part of a school community
• Gaining highly valuable experience to support future applications for teacher training and other school careers

• Cache Level 2/3 or minimum 6 months experience working with young people
• Confident communication and the ability to lead a classroom
• Adaptability, resilience and a willingness to learn
• A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
• Experience in childcare, coaching, support work, mentoring, tutoring or youth services is relevant and valued

• Hands‑on classroom experience essential for progressing into teaching
• Excellent rates of pay (£110‑£130 per day)
