Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cheltenham Bournside School as a Teacher of Geography. We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Geography to join a lively and enthusiastic Geography department. The successful candidate will be a key part of the team, who will teach Geography across the Key Stages, and will contribute to the strengths of the department.
They will teach Geography to highly motivated and talented pupils from Year 7 to 13, planning and preparing courses and lessons according to their educational needs and providing guidance and advice on their further education and future careers.
- Teach Geography across the Key Stages to pupils from Year 7 to 13, planning and preparing courses and lessons according to students’ educational needs.
- Provide guidance and advice on pupils’ further education and future careers.
- Contribute to a Geography department where Geography is a popular subject at GCSE (with 10 classes in Year 10 and 11) and A Level (2 classes in Years 12 and 13).
- Collaborate with colleagues as part of a team consisting of the Head of Geography and 6 other Geography teachers.
- Develop learning outside the classroom with fieldwork in all year groups, including trips to The Forest of Dean, Bristol, London, Gloucester and local Cheltenham activities; participate in expanding and improving the current fieldwork offer.
- Support Early Career Teachers and engage with the department’s staff development programme.
The Geography department believes in developing learning outside of the classroom with fieldwork in all year groups and welcomes new ideas for enhancing fieldwork offerings.
