Teaching Assistant

Overview

Year 5 (Behaviour Support) Thrive Education is seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with high level behavioural needs. Mornings will be spent delivering structured 1:1 support, while afternoons involve assisting children who find the classroom environment challenging. This role requires patience, creativity, and the ability to motivate a capable learner through short, engaging tasks.

Cheltenham Salary: £90–£105 per day (dependent on experience) Type:

• Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 5 pupil with behavioural needs
• Deliver short, motivating learning activities tailored to the child’s strengths
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
• Assist other pupils who struggle to access learning in the afternoons
• Work closely with class teachers and SEN staff to implement support plans
• Maintain clear, supportive communication with the wider team

• Experience supporting children with behavioural needs
• Ability to build trust and motivate reluctant learners
• Strong behaviour management and de escalation skills
