About the role

Biosciences at Gloucestershire is in robust health, with recent significant growth in undergraduate student numbers. To support that expansion, we are seeking a Lecturer in Bioscience to commence in post on 01 September 2026 (or as soon as possible thereafter). This is a fixed-term, 2 yr post, with potential conversion to a permanent position at the end of that interval subject to business needs.

You will have demonstrable expertise in animal behaviour, with a broad background in Zoology, including behavioural ecology in conservation settings and fieldwork in the UK and overseas. Experience that will allow you to design and deliver a range of effective, practical-based sessions and to supervise dissertations in subjects that align with our undergraduate courses, including BSc Wildlife Conservation Biology, BSc Biology, BSc Ecology & Environmental Science and BSc Zoology, is essential.

There will also be opportunity to contribute to supervision and teaching on our highly successful MSc Applied Ecology. You will have an evolving research profile that is consistent with your career stage and a clear set of personal research objectives.
