Listening Post is seeking an experienced and motivated Training Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of our counselling training provision.
This key managerial role involves line managing our team of tutors, developing and promoting our courses, ensuring high‑quality training delivery, and maintaining compliance with CPCAB requirements.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, excellent organisational ability, and a passion for developing high‑quality training within a counselling context.
Responsibilities- Line manage tutors and support co‑tutors in course development.
- Recruit the required number of students to courses each year.
- Collaborate with the training team, CEO, CPCAB, and other Listening Post staff.
- Counselling Qualification – Diploma or above.
- Minimum 450 hours supervised post‑qualification practice and currently in practice.
- BACP Registration or equivalent with another appropriate professional body.
- Experience of teaching/training or working with groups of adults in a related field.
- Experience of personal therapy.
- Strong Leadership and Line Management Skills.
- Understanding of the structure underpinning teaching adults (planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning).
- Capacity and enthusiasm to work effectively with co‑tutors to develop the course.
- Knowledge of CPCAB training frameworks.
- Excellent administrative abilities.
- Ability to maintain good relationships with Listening Post staff, students and fellow tutors.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A pride and interest in developing excellent counselling training for Listening Post.
- Commitment to applying Listening Post Policies and Procedures.
- A full induction is provided.
- Access to our full CPD programme (generally four one‑day seminars and three centre meetings per year, plus additional CPD over Zoom).
- Full support for the role with an experienced team, as well as administrative and IT support.
