Position: Mission-Critical Infrastructure Engineer (Secure Ops, eDV)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering proactive and reactive operational support to maintain stable, secure environments
  • Resolving incidents, implementing changes, and performing maintenance tasks efficiently
  • Developing operational improvements and automation to increase reliability and productivity
  • Creating clear documentation and supporting environment management alongside the Tech Lead
  • Monitoring systems proactively to anticipate and prevent issues
  • Engaging with stakeholders for service performance reviews and reporting
  • Applying ITIL4 practices within an agile operational framework
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations through managing service operations
  • Executing approved changes to configurations and documentation to ensure smooth service delivery
Main Skills Needed
  • Proven experience in managing IT operations within complex, secure environments, preferably in national security or defence sectors
  • Strong knowledge of VMWare Suite, Windows and Linux system administration
  • Familiarity with network technologies, security principles, and backup solutions such as Veeam
  • Experience with containerisation platforms like Docker and Kubernetes; monitoring tools such as Nagios
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organisation
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and working with Dev Ops teams in secure settings
  • Supportive understanding of software development practices and microservices architecture
