Licenced Aircraft Engineer

The role

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer you’ll be part of our Aviation business, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of Base Maintenance across a varied fleet. You’ll carry out inspections, rectification work and technical support to keep our aircraft mission‑ready for customers across the UK. This role gives you the opportunity to apply and grow your technical expertise while contributing to critical aviation services.

Day‑to‑day

responsibilities
  • Carrying out aircraft inspections, system checks and rectification work to support scheduled and emergent Base Maintenance.
  • Requesting and coordinating spare parts, tooling and materials for maintenance and workshop activity.
  • Working closely with Supervisors, Certifying Staff and the Maintenance Coordinator to ensure all tasks meet regulatory and internal standards.
  • Providing clear technical updates to stakeholders across the operation.
  • Supporting aircraft availability at Staverton and occasionally at other sites.

Successful candidates must pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment.

This role is full‑time (40 hours per week) and is based on site at Gloucestershire Airport, Staverton.

Essential experience
  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft maintenance standards.
  • Background in Base and/or Line Maintenance with solid technical understanding of rotary aircraft airframe and engine systems.
  • Experience with in UK aviation operations; rotary wing, HEMS or Police aviation experience advantageous.
  • Good understanding of CAA regulations, including SMS and Human Factors.
  • Confident communicator able to work effectively with people at all levels.
Qualifications
  • Category C Aircraft Maintenance Licence is desirable.
  • Category B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence is desirable but not essential.
  • CAA Part 66 Licenced B1.3 AML Aircraft Maintenance Licence, ideally including type ratings for EC135 and BK117/H145 aircraft.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions; eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship and residency.
