This secondment is an opportunity to work in an area of Oncology where we treat patients coming into the Department for all areas of Oncology treatments.
The successful candidate will be trained by our bespoke Practice Development team to enable you to administer supportive SACT treatments for our patients, or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapies' if you are skilled to do so.
This is a very varied role, and offering a wide level of learning.
Main duties of the jobCommunication and interpersonal skills
- conduct oneself in a professional manner and be a role model
- act with professionalism and integrity, and work within agreed professional, ethical and legal frameworks and processes to maintain and improve standards;
- work in partnership with other health and social care professionals and agencies, service users, carers and families ensuring that decisions about care are shared
Nursing practice and decision making
- assess, plan, deliver and evaluate the nursing care of patients in accordance with UK law, the NMC code of conduct and the Trust values
- deliver high quality essential care to all persons in their care;
- deliver complex care to service users in their field of practice;
- act to protect the public, and be responsible and accountable for safe, person‑centred, evidence‑based nursing practice;
- practice in a compassionate, respectful way, maintaining dignity and wellbeing and communicating effectively;
- act on their understanding of how people's lifestyles, environments and where care is delivered influence their health and wellbeing;
- seek out every opportunity to promote health and prevent illness;
Working within our organisation, would enable you to work with a dynamic team of Nurses in a busy environment but yet in an environment with a calm approach.

Job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will require appropriate general experience as a trained Nurse.
- Preferred SACT trained but non‑SACT trained considered
- Cannulation
- Administration of Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapies
- Scalp cooling
- Registration as a RGN
- Cannulation
- SACT trained
- Oncology knowledge/ Experience
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
