Effective communication and teamwork are key, acting as a contact point for patients, families, and staff while coordinating with nursing, medical, and diagnostic teams.
The SDEC team is a very friendly and dynamic multi-disciplinary team. Great care can change everything. Like you, at the Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Trust we want to deliver truly brilliant, integrated care. And just like you, we are ambitious about what we do. We are continually striving to improve patients experience and outcomes.
To do this we have developed an innovative Trustwide Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Service both in Gloucester and Cheltenham Hospitals based on national best-practice guidelines. The aim is to provide increased health outcomes for patients, redesigning the emergency care model so that care can be provided on the same day. Patients admitted through this pathway are seen diagnosed, treated and discharged on the same day, leaving admission to a hospital bed reserved only for very sick patients.
