Alderley Edge Medical Practice are looking for an enthusiastic,understanding, flexible, well-organised person to join our busy Doctors surgeryas a Medical Receptionist for the We are looking the following hours:
Tuesday 8-6.30
Friday 8-1
Friday 8-6.30
across both of our sites.
We have two sites, one in Alderley Edge Village and one in Prestbury Village, serving around 8600 patients. We have afabulous and experienced team of Receptionists, led by our Reception Manager, Rachel.
The practice clinical team consists of 5 GP Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, GP Registrars (depending on rotations), 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Healthcare Assistants who are all supportive and caring.
The right candidate will be able to join the NHS Pension Scheme, and take 20 days annual leave (pro-rata) including bank holidays. After one year of service you will be entitled to the uniform vouchers scheme and we have various other benefits and insentives.
Previous experience of working in a GP Practice is preferable but not essential as training can be provided. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
Main duties of the job- Answer incoming phone calls, transferring callsor dealing with the callers requests appropriately
- Process patient requests for appointments /repeat prescription requests
- Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
- Input data into the patients healthcare recordsas necessary
- Data entry of new and temporary registration sand relevant patient information as required
- Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
- Support all clinical staff with general tasksas requested
- Scan patient-related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records
- Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
- Provide additional cover to the wider admin and reception teams from time to time as required.
Alderley Edge Medical Practice is based in Alderley Edge Medical Centre at the Festival Hall. The practice looks after over 8,600 patients. The surgery offers excellent facilities for both patients and staff in a purpose built modern building in the heart of Alderley Edge. Clinical services are provided by teams of doctors, practice nurses and health care assistants. The practice is administered by a team of support staff.

Job summary
The role of Medical Receptionist and Practice
Administrator at Alderley Edge Medical Practice is to provide comprehensive reception and administrative support tothe
GP Partners and the Practice Manager.
To support the clinical team by signposting patients to the appropriate healthcare professional or service,working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The position will be to support the Practice Manager in all aspects of insurance report and form work, scheduling androstering of medical students as well as supporting the Finance Manager with elements of research co-ordination and searches. Additionally we would expectthe candidate to undertake reception duties as part of the role, supporting the administrative team in delivering a polite and professional service to the patient population.
This will include daily duties as part of task list, openand close as required, and managing administrative duties to support the clinical team and patients.
The successful candidate will bewell organised, a team player, able to prioritise their work, have good attention to detail and have excellent communication skills.
Person Specification Experience- Experience in dealing with the public
- Experience of working in General Practice.
- Previous experience with EMIS
- NHS Experience
