What we’re looking for

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced and growing organisation. We’re looking for a Recovery Practitioner specialising in Safeguarding, for our Cheltenham Service. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver excellent drug and alcohol services to those who use our services and their significant others, including family members, friends, and carers, to facilitate positive outcomes.

The role will manage a caseload of safeguarding clients, providing those who use our services, as well as the full range of stakeholders, information relevant to treatment. You will also provide a range of interventions, such as harm reduction, brief interventions or assessment, where required. You will be actively involved in co‑ordinating and participating in a multi‑agency approach to those who use our services, liaising with a variety of partner agencies and safeguarding professionals.

You will also work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholders across multi‑disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence to all Via policies and safeguarding principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseload of safeguarding clients
  • Provide harm reduction, brief interventions, assessments as required
  • Coordinate and participate in multi‑agency approach
  • Collaborate with colleagues and key stakeholders across multi‑disciplinary teams
  • Ensure adherence to Via policies and safeguarding principles
  • Prescribe and provide good quality interventions at varying stages of recovery
  • Develop and deliver a wide range of group sessions
  • Support other areas of service delivery and participate in special interests and activities such as smoking cessation and local events

The main purpose of this role is to provide excellent quality of care to people who use our service accessing treatment for substance use and their complex needs, in partnership with our clinical team, counsellors and other professionals involved in client’s care.

You will have an in‑depth knowledge and experience of the challenges affecting people with substance use and related health and wellbeing issues.

Working as part of a dynamic team you will be responsible for managing a caseload of clients, to include prescribing, providing a good quality of interventions at varying stages of their recovery as well as developing and delivering a wide range of groups.

The duties are varied, and no two days will be the same. Duties include supporting other areas of service delivery as well as helping to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support health and wellbeing such as smoking cessation and local events.
