This exciting post will enable you to develop your MI and management skills and gain wide‑ranging experience in a busy MI centre. You will participate in our enquiry answering, active information and patient helpline services, assist in training and supervising staff in MI, and contribute to the MI Quality Assurance processes. You will provide a high‑level clinical pharmacy service and provide a lead on cost‑effective medicines management for the sub‑specialities at one of the largest hospital Trusts in England.
The post is a fixed‑term one year contract for 18.75 hours per week. Flexible working can be accommodated within the working hours of the department (9.00 – 5.30, Monday to Friday).

Job responsibilitiesKnowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Four‑year Vocational Masters degree with one year postgraduate competency assessment with examination to enter the register, otherwise Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree along with equivalent skills gained through experience.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Provide evidence of Continuing Professional Development to comply with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) requirements.
- Significant clinical experience working in a UK hospital at minimum band 7 level equivalent or above, covering a wide range of duties.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent skills gained through significant experience as a clinical pharmacist within hospital pharmacy.
- Knowledge of current therapeutics within area of clinical responsibility and promote evidence‑based practice.
- Able to work alone and unsupervised.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload including dealing with frequent interruptions.
- Effective oral and written communication with colleagues, staff and patients.
- Ability to write reports and make presentations to a range of colleagues in various settings.
- Intermediate competence in standard range of IT programmes.
- United Kingdom Medicines Information Executive (UKMI Exec) introductory training course or equivalent level of knowledge and skills gained through experience.
- Foundation level management training or equivalent skills gained through experience.
- Active registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
