Overview

We are looking for the right person to provide and co-ordinate administrative support to the Wheelchair Repair and Service team.

The post holder will be responsible for liaising with patients, carers and relatives for the repair and service of wheelchair mobility aids; as well as assisting in the allocation and coordination of daily workloads. The successful post holder will also share in team activities such as controlling and ordering stock, monitoring and allocating wheelchairs and related accessory stock; also assisting in stock control systems.

This role calls for a post holder that is a self starter and have the capabilities to work alone and as part of our team, with patients and their carers to ensure the delivery of the repairs service and collection of goods and accessories in a timely manner and to a high standard.

Main duties of the job
  • Liaising via the telephone with patients, carers and care professionals for the delivery of repairs services, co-ordinating relevant paperwork.
  • Completing works orders and associated notes to close down completed jobs in a timely fashion.
  • Coordinating workload and jobs for Field Service Engineers.
  • Maintaining and develop efficient goods inwards control, goods inwards approvals and other procedures, either in person or through agreed delegation.
  • Liaise with service management to develop effective management information reporting systems for all aspects of stock control, stock movements, slow moving or obsolete stock identification and other reports to facilitate optimum stock usage within contractual requirements.
  • Make full use of computerised stock control and other systems to update records and maintain patient details.
  • Comply with service requirements of the BCE Management Systems and Bristol NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
  • Undertake such other reasonable duties, appropriate to the grade, as agreed between the post holder and manager from time to time.
  • This job description will be reviewed periodically, in the light of experience and according to changing service needs.
