Build the HR Function. Shape the Culture. Support the Growth.
This is a rare opportunity to join a growing specialist manufacturing and engineering business at a pivotal stage in its journey.
The company has built a strong reputation for delivering bespoke solutions across a variety of industrial, engineering and infrastructure sectors. Known for its ability to solve complex customer challenges and deliver exceptional service, the business has experienced significant growth and continues to invest heavily in its people, operations and future development.
As part of that growth, they are looking for an experienced HR Manager who wants more than a traditional HR role.
This is an opportunity to create, develop and shape the HR function within a people-focused business where your contribution will have a genuine impact. You'll become the go-to person for all HR matters, supporting employees throughout their journey while helping establish the processes, systems and culture needed to support continued expansion.
For the right person, this is a chance to build something rather than simply maintain what already exists.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, providing both strategic input and hands-on HR support across the business.
You'll work closely with managers, employees, recruitment partners and external stakeholders to ensure the company continues to attract, develop and retain great people.
This role requires someone who can balance empathy with accountability. You'll be a trusted advisor, coach and support for employees while also having the confidence to manage disciplinary, performance and employee relations matters when required.
The successful candidate will play a key role in helping create a positive, engaged and high-performing culture as the business continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
Create, develop and manage the HR function across the business
Manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to exit processes
Work closely with recruitment partners to support hiring activity
Coordinate onboarding and induction programmes
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures and best practices
Provide advice and guidance to managers on people-related matters

Support performance management and employee development initiatives
Create and implement continuous development and training plans
Assist with succession planning and workforce development
Ensure compliance with employment legislation and HR best practice
Maintain employee records and HR documentation
Support health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across the business
Drive employee engagement, retention and culture-focused initiatives
Produce HR reports and management information where required
What We're Looking For
We're keen to speak with HR professionals who are excited by the opportunity to build and develop an HR function within a growing business.
You'll likely have:
CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent
Previous HR Manager, Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner experience
Experience managing the full employee lifecycle
Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation
Experience handling employee relations matters including disciplinaries and grievances
A proactive and self-sufficient approach
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
The confidence to challenge when required whilst maintaining strong working relationships
A genuine passion for employee development and wellbeing
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys building processes, developing people and helping create an environment where employees can perform at their best.
The Culture
The business has grown significantly while maintaining the close-knit culture that has been central to its success.
People are known by name, not employee number. Leadership remains approachable, communication is open and employees are genuinely valued for their contribution.
The company prides itself on building long-term relationships, embracing new challenges and supporting continuous improvement at every level. Trust, teamwork, accountability and personal development are at the heart of the business.
As HR Manager, you'll play a key role in protecting and strengthening this culture whilst helping prepare the organisation for its next phase of growth.
Why Apply?
This is far more than a standard HR Management position.
You'll have the opportunity to establish and develop the HR function, influence company culture, support business growth and become a trusted partner to both leadership and employees.
If you're an HR professional who enjoys creating structure, developing people, driving positive change…
