UX Front End Developer

A leading UK consultancy operating within national security and secure digital transformation is seeking a UX Front-End Developer to design and build intuitive, accessible interfaces for mission-critical applications. This role blends UX thinking with hands‑on front‑end development to deliver high-quality, user‑focused government systems.

Gloucester, London or Manchester (up to 80% onsite)

• Designing and prototyping user journeys, wireframes, and interactive UI concepts
• Conducting usability testing and refining designs based on user feedback and research insights
• Translating complex user and system requirements into clean, accessible interface designs
• Building responsive front-end applications using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
• Developing reusable UI components and maintaining consistent design systems
• Ensuring accessibility compliance and adherence to inclusive design standards
• Integrating front-end applications with backend APIs and data services
• Optimising performance for secure, low-bandwidth, or constrained environments
• Collaborating within Agile teams alongside developers, researchers, and architects

• Strong experience in front-end development using React, Angular, or Vue
• Solid technical ability in HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript, and Type Script
• Proven UX capability including wire framing, prototyping, and user flow design
• Strong understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA or equivalent)
• Experience working with APIs and JSON-based data integration
• Familiarity with Agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban)
• Experience in secure, regulated environments such as government or defence sectors
• Understanding of Secure by Design and Dev Sec Ops  principles

• Work on secure, high-impact digital services used in national security contexts
