Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Cheltenham – Flexible/Hybrid
Salary: £70,000 – £100,000

We are seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join one of our defence clients with offices in Cheltenham. In this role, you will support customers in migrating and modernising mission-critical systems across AWS and hybrid cloud environments.

Working closely with experienced engineers and architects, you will help design and deliver secure, scalable solutions across cloud and on-premise platforms. Your work will improve system reliability, reduce operational costs, and increase organisational agility across national security programmes, using modern Infrastructure as Code and Dev Sec Ops  practices.

Responsibilities:

Design, build and implement AWS and hybrid cloud solutions for gov/defence industry clients.
Define scalable and secure infrastructure architectures.
Administer and optimise Linux and Windows-based systems in enterprise environments.
Design and troubleshoot IP networking solutions.
Automate deployment, configuration and maintenance processes using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tooling.
Contribute to continuous improvement through Dev Sec Ops  practices and innovation.
Requirements:

Proven experience in IT systems design, deployment and administration, including leadership responsibilities.
AWS certification at Associate level with hands-on experience delivering cloud-based solutions.
Strong expertise in Linux and Windows system administration.
Solid understanding of IPv4 networking including subnetting, routing (OSPF), VLANs and VPNs.
Experience automating tasks using tools such as Ansible, Bash, Power Shell, Puppet or Python.
Due to the nature of work, you must be a sole British Citizen and be able to gain DV clearance.
