Lead Messaging Engineer

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

• Active eDV clearance
• Strong experience administering Microsoft Exchange On-Premise environments
• Hands-on experience with SharePoint Server Subscription Edition (SPSE)
• Experience supporting Skype for Business within enterprise environments
• Strong infrastructure knowledge, including administration, troubleshooting, clustering and hardware evaluation
• Experience working within highly governed environments with strict service level agreements
• Desirable:
  Experience with X.400 messaging, particularly within military or highly secure environments
• Desirable:
  Microsoft certifications, or equivalent, across messaging or infrastructure technologies
• Desirable:
  Strong technical documentation skills, including operational procedures and user guidance

• Design, build, configure and deploy secure on-premise messaging and collaboration platforms
• Manage and support critical messaging infrastructure, ensuring high availability, resilience and performance
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across messaging and infrastructure technologies
• Lead or contribute to technical project delivery within a structured governance framework
• Drive service improvements, operational efficiency and platform optimisation
• Support knowledge sharing and mentoring across the wider messaging team

We are hiring a Lead Messaging Engineer to join a highly secure engineering team delivering mission-critical communication platforms that support national security operations. This is an on-site role based in Cheltenham, offering a salary of up to £75,000 plus a car allowance and clearance bonus, along with benefits including an annual DV clearance retention bonus, 25 days annual leave with the option to buy up to 10 additional days, private medical insurance, and a 6% employer pension contribution.
