The Role Our client is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing Security & Intelligence Consulting team. You'll help design and build modern data platforms that enable organisations across Defence, Government and National Security to make faster, better-informed decisions from complex and diverse datasets. Working alongside data scientists, software engineers, architects and consultants, you'll create scalable cloud-native data solutions that support advanced analytics, AI/ML capabilities and operational intelligence systems.

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects where you'll influence architecture, engineering approaches and the delivery of high-impact data capabilities. What You'll Be Doing Designing and developing modern data platforms and pipelines Building scalable batch and streaming data solutions Creating data lakes and cloud-native data architectures Ingesting, transforming and integrating data from multiple sources Supporting analytics, AI and machine learning workloads Implementing Dev Sec Ops  and Infrastructure as Code practices Optimising performance, reliability and scalability across data services Working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex data challenges What We're Looking For Commercial experience delivering Data Engineering solutions Strong Python and SQL skills, with experience of Java or Scala beneficial Experience building large-scale ETL/ELT and data processing pipelines Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and distributed data processing technologies Experience designing and operating cloud-native data platforms, particularly within AWS Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD delivery practices Understanding of data lake, data warehouse and modern analytics architectures Ability to work directly with stakeholders and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
