GCHQ’s Mandarin Language Talent Programme is an 11‑week, full‑time placement based in Cheltenham or Manchester. You’ll train in language analysis, translate and interpret Mandarin, and work with mentors on real operations to prepare for a permanent role.
Applicants should have a 2:2 in Mandarin. The programme includes induction and language tests, with a starting salary of £37,892 for the eventual full‑time role and a paid stipend of £6,380 for the programme, plus listed benefits.
