As a Supply Chain Specialist
, you will help deliver a sustainable, high‑performing supply chain that supports our business needs. Working within defined processes and procedures, you will protect commercial and financial interests while ensuring customer requirements are met. You will also support strategic activities including spend optimisation, supplier collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational delivery such as demand forecasting, PO management, materials sourcing, scheduling and inventory management.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to programme success while helping shape best practice across the supply chain function.
Role Responsibilities- Work in accordance with NG policies, procedures, and values, challenging and improving where needed.
- Carry out supplier sourcing and RFx activity including understanding Statements of Work, issuing RFx, reviewing responses, negotiating terms, and implementing contract agreements.
- Plan and manage engagement with stakeholders to understand supply chain requirements and assure supplier performance.
- Maintain ERP data and ensure all contract documentation remains accurate and up to date.
- Support supplier relationship management including assessment, performance monitoring and appropriate engagement.
- Monitor and manage supply issues, providing updates and reports as required, and apply best practice supply chain and procurement principles in an engineering environment.
- Qualified in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Experience building strong supplier relationships.
- Proven success negotiating and managing subcontracts.
- Understanding of supply chain operations including Purchase‑to‑Pay.
- Experience procuring professional and technical services.
- CIPS qualified or working towards it.
- Knowledge of import/export controls, including US export controls.
Due to the nature of our work, you must be able to gain and maintain SC‑level UK Government security clearance
