Cleaning Assistant (Part‑time)

20 hours per week, Monday – Friday 15:30–19:30 (flexibility available)
Pay: £12.71 per hour

Gloucestershire’s largest comprehensive school, with over 200 staff and approximately 1,800 students, is seeking a Cleaning Assistant to support the operational needs of our school environment.

• Carry out cleaning duties in any area allocated by the Supervisor to the required standard and within the allocated time, subject to change as required.
• Clean all surfaces, fixtures, and fittings by the appropriate method within the designated area of work, excluding technical equipment.
• Clean all hard and soft floor surfaces using appropriate methods and machinery where necessary.
• Collect and bag waste and prepare it for disposal.
• Check that windows are closed and lights are turned off before leaving the area.
• Use materials and equipment safely, efficiently, and cost‑effectively.
• Ensure all equipment used is cleaned before returning to the stores.
• Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, taking reasonable care of your own safety and that of others.

• Commitment to complete relevant training.
• Experience working as a cleaner, housekeeper or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of cleaning systems and basic COSHH awareness.
• High standards of work.
• Willingness to undertake training courses relevant to the post and required for health and safety purposes.
