As Head of MarketAs Head of Market for the Land Domain, you will lead a strategically critical portfolio, shaping the direction and growth of our defence partnerships. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience engaging at senior levels across the defence sector, driving complex business development initiatives, and securing large‑scale, long‑term programmes. You’ll play a key role in defining our market strategy, strengthening client relationships, and identifying opportunities that advance both our commercial objectives and national defence priorities.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Oversee business development efforts across key defence, engineering, and technology sectors, aligning with strategic objectives
- Build and manage long‑term client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and first point of contact.
- Accountable for identifying and mitigating commercial risks
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities
- Provide accurate forecasting and reporting of pipeline, performance, and market intelligence to senior leadership.
- Line Manager for a group of Business Managers on a day‑to‑day basis, providing functional leadership, coaching and mentoring
- Skillful in enhancing business development and boosting sales, ideally within Defence/Land Domain, but applicable to wider defence, engineering, or technology sectors
- Ability to engage with technical teams and translate complex offerings into compelling business value
- Skillful communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Organised professional with a strategic mindset and a results‑driven attitude.
- Desirable
Experience: - Background in consulting would be advantageous.
- Existing network within defence primes, government agencies, or related industries
- Experience with framework agreements and public sector bids
- Degree in business, engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
