We’re partnering with an award-winning communications agency that delivers strategic advice, creative campaigns and high-impact communications for organisations operating within some of the UK’s most interesting and important sectors.
The agency works with an impressive portfolio of clients across infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, transport and the built environment.
Many of the projects they support sit at the intersection of business, politics, communities, sustainability and the environment
, making this a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys understanding how the world around us is changing.
Due to continued growth, the agency is looking to add several people to its Cheltenham team at Account Executive and Senior Account Executive level
.
This could suit someone already working within PR, communications or public affairs, but the agency is also very open to bright and ambitious graduates looking to build a career in communications
.
If you’ve studied Politics, Geography, International Relations, Public Policy, Planning, Sustainability, History, Economics, English, Journalism or a similarly research-led subject
, this is an opportunity to put that knowledge and curiosity into practice.
You’ll work alongside experienced communications professionals, supporting campaigns for organisations involved in sectors that have a genuine impact on the economy, environment and communities.
Depending on the team you join, your clients could include organisations involved in:
- Renewable energy and offshore wind
- Airports and ports
- Carbon capture and low-carbon infrastructure
- Construction and the built environment
- Housing and development
- Manufacturing
- Major infrastructure projects
You don’t need to arrive as an expert in these sectors. What’s more important is that you’re curious about current affairs and interested in understanding the political, social, economic and environmental issues surrounding major projects and organisations.
You’ll research political, policy and industry developments, monitor the media and understand how changing public opinion, government policy and stakeholder sentiment could affect your clients.
You’ll then help turn that understanding into clear and engaging communications.
This could include writing press releases, articles, newsletters, stakeholder updates and campaign content, supporting media-relations activity, liaising with journalists and helping coordinate events, exhibitions and briefings. You’ll also attend client meetings and gradually develop trusted relationships with clients, journalists and external stakeholders.
These are communications-led positions rather than sales roles
. Your focus will be on understanding complex subjects, developing strong ideas and helping deliver accurate and engaging campaigns.
Whatever level you join at, you’ll be someone who is:
- Bright, ambitious and intellectually curious
- Interested in what is happening in the world around you
- A strong writer and communicator
- Comfortable researching unfamiliar or complex subjects
- Interested in politics, business, society and the media
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Positive, personable and keen to develop relationships
- Detail-focused and committed to producing accurate work
For the more planning-focused positions, an understanding of local politics, public policy, planning, geography, development or government decision-making would be particularly valuable, although specialist knowledge can be developed within the role.
