An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team on Tivoli. Tivoli ward provides pre and post operative care for planned elective and acute surgeries in for Urology, lower Gastro intestinal and Gynaecological surgery. Joining our team will give you exposure not only to the elective surgeries but also emergency admissions and acutely unwell patients. We are a fast-paced ward with high turnover of patients.
We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, compassionate nurse that shares our passion and drive in the delivery of high-quality safe care for our patients.
You will work alongside the ward manager to support the clinical and operational management of the ward, monitor and maintain excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development.
Main duties of the job- Deliver and role model expert clinical patient care and operational decision making for specialities on Tivoli
- To work in manner that promotes shared leadership and on-going professional development of self and others
- Support the Ward Manager in monitoring the standards and quality of care, promoting the use of audit and working with them to identify and remedy any actions
- Support the team to enhance patient experience and patient outcomes
- To ensure that the caring culture expected of colleagues and values of the Trust is consistently maintained and upheld and maintain kindness and respect to all
- Supporting the development of the Urology Investigation Unit (UIU)
- Work alongside nursing staff, role modelling high standards of practice whilst assessing, delivering and evaluating patient care. Highlighting any areas of development for team members as required.
- Be competent in the use of all relevant Trust IT systems including the use of electronic patient record, email, and Trak-Care

- Work collaboratively with colleagues to lead the nursing team within Tivoli ward in an engaged, collaborative, cohesive, pro‑active and progressive manner to maintain Outstanding standards of patient care and service delivery.
- Deliver and role model expert clinical patient care and operational decision making
- Promote and practice shared leadership and support the ongoing professional development of self and others
- Work alongside the Matron, Ward Manager, Consultants, and the wider multidisciplinary team to determine and deliver service strategic objectives and to promote the overarching vision for the service
- Deliver, coordinate, and supervise patient care, ensuring high standards in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, in line with the Trusts vision of To deliver the best care every day for everyone.
- Take day today responsibility for the effective management of nursing resources, ensuring staff rotas support the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
- Maintain high visibility and clinical expertise on the ward, consistently role modelling high standards of care, evidence-based practice, and effective leadership in accordance with UK law, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code, and Trust policies and guidelines.
- Take an active role within the clinical governance and quality framework, contributing to and helping embed a culture of continuous quality improvement.
- Support the development and implementation of service improvement and quality initiatives, working with the senior team to drive forward patient safety, staff engagement, and enhanced patient outcomes.
- Active Registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse
- Recognised Nursing Degree or equivalent including a recognised teaching qualification/experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Completion of Bronze or Silver QI
- Management/leadership qualification or equivalent level of skill gained through experience
- Experience of working in an acute Urology
