Practice Development Nurse Oncology and Haematology Band 6 (30 hours a week)
We are a passionate, driven team and strive to deliver projects, innovation and education to benefit the amazing Gloucestershire Cancer Centre staff and patients. The NMC standards are at the heart of our professional values, particularly relating to evidenced based care. The key attributes for being a PD nurse are kindness, autonomy, a solid background and thirst for knowledge within Haematology/Oncology.
Additional working pattern details:
Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday or Sunday for recruitment fairs of conference

Main duties of the jobThe oncology practice development team is a small, highly functioning, friendly and professional group. We are very supportive of each other and the wider nursing teams. Education and development are our key provision, and the new post holder will get plenty while they adjust to the role.
Eventually however, this is a very autonomous and independent working environment. Hence excellent organisational, self-management, interpersonal and leadership skills are required. Alongside, a level of experience, existing knowledge and clinical skills are required. The PD team cover four departments and the band 6’s are expected to manage their own varied workload and deadlines, while covering the bleeps. With any small team there will days when you have limited senior support.
Good communication is required to manage staff effectively and deliver teaching. Need to build trusting working relationships within all four departments to ensure staff are psychologically safe to discuss sometimes personal, emotional and challenging issues.
