Job Overview
Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting a Receiving & Release Inspector to join our Logistics team at the Bishops Cleeve site. The role supports the inspection and certification of aerospace parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Carry out a wide range of inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies, using precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques to verify conformance against drawings, specifications and purchase orders.
- Review certification and documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), ensuring all quality standards are met before products are accepted or released.
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to support the resolution of product issues and maintain high standards across the supply chain.
- Complete certification documentation, such as Certificates of Conformance and UK Form 1, and maintain accurate records in line with company procedures.
- Experience working in a quality inspection environment, ideally within aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with hands‑on experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CMM or similar systems.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach, capable of making sound decisions on product acceptance or rejection.
- Excellent communication skills to work closely with internal teams and suppliers.
- Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent experience is advantageous, along with knowledge of AS9102 and inspection best practices.
- Up to 29 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
