Receiving and Release Inspector

Receiving & Release Inspector – Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, is recruiting for a Receiving & Release Inspector to join our Logistics team. The role will be based at our Bishops Cleeve site and involves supporting the inspection and certification of aerospace parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

• Play a critical role in ensuring all incoming and outgoing products meet design, customer, and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out a wide range of inspections on aerospace parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment and inspection techniques to verify conformance against drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
• Review certification and documentation, including First Article Inspection Reports (AS9102), ensuring all quality standards are met before acceptance or release.
• Work closely with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to support resolution of product issues and maintain high standards across the supply chain.
• Complete certification documentation such as Certificates of Conformance and UK Form1, and maintain accurate records in line with company procedures.

• Experience working in a quality inspection environment, ideally within aerospace or a similarly regulated industry.
• Confidence interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, with hands‑on experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment, including CMM or similar systems.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, with the ability to make sound decisions on product acceptance or rejection.
• Strong communication skills, able to work closely with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues and maintain quality standards.
• Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent experience, along with knowledge of AS9102 and inspection best practices.
