Quality Control Inspector; Precision Engineering

This role is based in Swindon and reports to the Quality Manager. As a Quality Control Inspector (Precision Engineering), you will examine high‑precision components throughout production, using measurement tools to verify they meet exact specifications. The role is full‑time, Monday to Friday, and includes documenting inspection results and identifying non‑conformances. A salary between £25,000 and £35,000 per annum is offered, dependent on experience, with overtime available.

• Inspect precision‑engineered components throughout the manufacturing process.
• Carry out detailed quality inspections using a range of measuring equipment and inspection tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and tolerances to ensure components meet required standards.
• Check dimensions, finishes and critical features against drawings and inspection criteria.
• Complete first‑off inspections, in‑process inspections and final quality checks.
• Identify defects, non‑conformances and quality issues, escalating concerns where required.
• Complete inspection reports and maintain accurate quality documentation.
• Ensure full traceability of components and inspection records.
• Support investigations into quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to resolve quality concerns.
• Ensure all quality procedures and standards are consistently followed.
• Maintain awareness of calibration requirements for measuring equipment.

• Previous experience within Quality Control, Inspection or a similar engineering role.
• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings is essential.
• Strong understanding of dimensional tolerances, specifications and inspection requirements.
• Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring tools.
• Excellent attention to detail with a precise and methodical approach.
• Experience inspecting complex or high‑precision components.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
• A background in tool making, precision machining, CNC machining or skilled engineering environments would be highly desirable.
