Roles And ResponsibilitiesIn the 12-month Quality Placement, you'll gain hands‑on experience across various aspects of quality, including product and process design, issue resolution, and risk management.
Responsibilities will vary depending on the location and role, as each site has unique projects, production processes, and priorities. You could be involved in investigating quality issues, auditing products and suppliers, reviewing materials, analysing data or driving process improvements.
Supplier Quality (Cheltenham)This role will identify improvement opportunities for the team, which will improve efficiency and productivity through already identified improvement projects and to help identify new opportunities for improvement. With support from the wider team, in this role you will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for the management of a small portfolio of suppliers from a supplier quality perspective to gain experience in supplier management in a business environment.
ProductQuality Placement (Caledonian)
Support the business in delivering defect‑free aerospace engines to customers by participating in quality investigations, driving product safety risk reduction, and providing day‑to‑day quality support to operations. You help run proactive quality activities such as PFMEA, reduce quality escapes through improved defect detection and elimination, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System. You also work on improving quality communications and awareness across the facility, participate in staff and management quality forums, and perform trend analysis and action planning to address recurring issues and strengthen overall quality performance.
This opportunity is offered in our Caledonian (Prestwick, Scotland) and Cheltenham sites, during the process we will ask you to share your location and role preferences.
GE Aerospace Caledonian is a purpose‑built aircraft engine overhaul facility, adjacent to Glasgow Prestwick International Airport. The Caledonian site was officially opened in 1980 and has since grown into a centre of excellence for Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) of CF6 & GEnx engine types. After each overhaul, the engines undergo intensive performance testing on site in our bespoke test cell, before returning to our global customer base ready for service.
