Retail Cover Supervisor; Zero

Overview

Our busy charity shop is looking for a Zero Hours Cover Supervisor to help create a welcoming space full of bargains, banter and brilliant finds.

Customer service is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll ensure every visitor feels welcome – two-legged or four! – and that the shop is a friendly, inviting place to browse. You’ll also champion Blue Cross and the incredible work we do for pets and people whenever the opportunity arises.

On the sales side, you’ll drive Gift Aid sign‑ups, process donations, price items to maximise fundraising and keep the shop floor looking its best. From eye‑catching window displays to tidy rails and shelves, you’ll ensure everything is attractive, safe, and ready to sell.

Support our fantastic team of volunteers, keeping the day running smoothly while maintaining a positive and fun atmosphere.

• Support and motivate volunteers
• Help customers feel right at home (dogs too!)
• Keep the shop floor looking its best
• Make sure donations are processed, priced, and ready to sell
• Bring energy, organisation and a sense of humour to the shift

You’ll bring previous retail experience, including some time spent supervising or managing, and you’ll be confident working with all sorts of customers. Flexibility is important as shifts vary so you’ll be happy to jump in when needed. You’ll also be organised, practical and ready to get stuck into whatever the day brings.

Zero hours contract. Total hourly rate: £14.24, including additional elements like holiday pay.
