Assistant Store Manager

We are a leading UK lifestyle brand looking for an Assistant Store Manager for our Bourton‑on‑the‑Water shop. This is a 32‑hour permanent contract.

Our Assistant Store Managers are part of the Store Management team, supporting the Store Manager in running the shop, driving KPI targets and profit, and fostering a customer‑centric culture.

• Assist the Store Manager in creating a service culture within the store team that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do.
• Enable the store team to recommend additional services to drive sales such as omni‑channel selling, gather customer data, and recommend add‑on purchases.
• Support the Store Manager with recruitment, building a diverse and passionate team.
• Serve as a role model, driving store sales, profitability and consistent KPI achievement, understanding what is required to drive performance.
• Coaching and developing the store team through regular 121s, supporting with development plans when appropriate.
• Communicate store performance to your team and key stakeholders, providing regular feedback, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Implement store visual merchandising and windows standards, utilising product, category and bestseller information to maximise commercial opportunities.
• Use product information to maximise sales opportunities.
• Manage store operations – stock, loss prevention, escalation and incident reporting, health and safety, GDPR, cash handling, key holder responsibilities, and store safety standards.
• Serve as a key holder for the store and have sole responsibility for running the store when required.

Leading the way with exceptional retail skills, product knowledge and commercial know-how, you’ll be passionate about inspiring your team to exceed sales and maximise profitability. You will have previous experience in leading a team at supervisor level or above, preferably in a retail or equivalent environment where you drove key KPI achievement and managed budgets. You are an excellent communicator, build a culture of trust, and find solutions naturally.
