Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you will be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (). An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About the role

This team leader will be responsible for the Business Unit’s Physical and Personnel Operational Security activities, predominantly across the UK, placing the customer at the heart of their decision making. This individual will be a lead role in shaping and challenging the organisation to strive for best security practice and maintain compliance with all aspects of Government security policy requirements.

This job role can be based in Ipswich, London or Manchester. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

What you’ll be doing
  • Leading and managing a team of security professionals and managers within the Security Operations Team.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong internal and external stakeholder / customer relationships, under a ‘customer-first’ principle.
  • Responsible and accountable for the business unit’s physical estate (incl) its:
    Security governance, Security policy and processes, Visitor management, Accreditation, assurance and audit, Suppler management and maintenance, Access control management, Incident & investigations management.
  • Responsible and accountable for briefing, overall governance and security awareness across the business unit.
  • Implementing plans and budgets for monitoring, maintaining and improving the integrity of the physical estate.

  • Typically qualified to degree level, or equivalent professional experience and/or with recognised qualifications.
  • Member of Security Industry Professional Body e.g. Institute of Information Security (CIISEC)
  • Must hold and maintain DV Clearance - Mandatory
  • Government security frameworks and accreditations experience
  • Experienced leadership and operational experience within industry – Mandatory
  • Key Skills (Expert or Advanced):
    Security Governance, Security Operations, Information Risk Management, Physical Security Strategy, Team Management, Thought Leadership
  • Stakeholder Management experience, at all levels of organisation hierarchies.
